Luss lies in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park set up in 2002 to protect the environment and encourage public access. It should come as no surprise that the beauty and several centuries of cultural heritage along with myth and folklore have shaped the infamous characters of the ages.
Walking in the most beautiful conservation village of Luss on the west side of Loch Lomond just off the A82. Centuries old associations with the Colquhoun Clan with Luss and the surrounding area nine miles north of Balloch to ten miles south of Tarbet.
Our guided walking tours cover the pretty village cottages on main street, then a level path along the banks of the river Luss, visit the outside of the village’s 19th century loch side church, a Viking hogback gravestone, beach scenes and Shore Cottage- Luss’ oldest surviving cottage.
To end the guided Luss walk we take a view from the end of the pier to wonder at the majestic grandeur of Ben Lomond 974m, Scotland’s most southerly Munro.
Loch Lomond was voted by the public in 2005 as one of the top natural wonders in Britain. It is also featured in the song “The Bonnie Banks o’ Loch Lomond”, we will take a moment to watch the light change over the loch and be inspired.
Explore Loch Lomond’s irresistible charms of this wonderful stretch of water and experience the history and architecture of a small Scottish hamlet. There are twenty-two larger lochs and lochans and a highland boundary fault splitting the loch into the highlands and the lowlands.
Luss is 45 minutes’ drive away from Glasgow, 50% of Scotland’s population lives near the National Park, with good transport links by Citylink Scotland with several coffee shops The Village Rest and The Coach House Coffee Shop and hotels in Luss Village.
